After about three weeks illness, little Grace Lamos died Saturday night. She had suffered so that death came as a blessed release. The family came here from Marion county last spring. Grace was the oldest child, and soon became a favorite among the girls of her age. Everything possible was done by parents and friends, but she was so frail to withstand the disease. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Sunday afternoon. Rev. George Houghton conducted the services and six young ladies acted as pall bearers.

Died—At Macksburg, Iowa, June 23, 1895, Grace Lamos, the beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Lamos, aged 11 years. The grief-stricken parents in the loss of this bright, beautiful, promising girl of eleven summers have the sympathy of all who know them. She was taken from them after an illness of short duration, and was conscious until near the last. Like a cloud passing over the sun, she looked up to her mother as if to speak, smiled, closed her eyes and quietly passed away to rest. The funeral services were held in the Baptist church Sunday, and were conducted by Rev. G. Houghton. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers. The pall bearers were young ladies of near Grace’s age. The remains were temporarily laid to rest in the cemetery south of town. The parents have a monument to their dead in Cedar county, Iowa, where they will remove the remains sometime in the near future.
