The friends of Mrs. Robert Phillips were very much shocked to hear of her death on Saturday, Sept. 10, 1921, at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, Minn., where she had gone for treatment. The body arrived Sunday morning and was taken to her home.
The funeral occurred Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. church in Peru, Rev. Shannon officiating. The Truro W.R.C., of which she was a member, attended in a body. Interment was made in Peru cemetery.
Miss Elizabeth Windus was born in West Liberty, Muscatine, county, Iowa. March 14, 1869 and departed this life at St. Mary's hospital, in Rochester, Minn., Sept 16, 1921, at the age of 52 years, 5 months and 27 days.
She was united in marriage to Robert Phillips Jan. 5, 1887 at West Liberty. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Eva Allen of Murray, Elmer Phillips, Mrs. Wilma Beeler and Edwin Phillips of Peru; and Mrs. Ada Lowe of Crookston, Neb., who is seriously ill at this time.
Mrs. Phillips united with the Church of Christ, Jan. 30, 1893 at West Liberty and was an earnest church worker until her death.
