A. D. HINDMAN

Albert Delmar Hindman, son of Samuel Hindman, was born in Jackson township, Madison county, March 17, 1870 and died at his home in Des Moines, June 22, 1921, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 5 days.

His childhood was spent with his parents in their country home near Winterset. At the age of 19 he graduated from the Dexter Normal school and for a number of years was engaged successfully in educational and newspaper work. In 1900, he with others, organized the American Life Insurance comany, with which he has since been connected, holding the position of general manager and first vice president until a few weeks before his death.

On June 30, 1898, he was united in marriage to Maud Brown of Iowa Falls, who survives him. Mr. Hindman also leaves one aunt, two uncles, a step-mother, six sisters and four brothers who with their families, mourn their loss.

He was well known in fraternal circles being a member of the Masonic lodge, Consistory and the Shrine; also a member of the A.C.U.W. and a Knights of Pythias. He was associated with the Chamber of Commerce and a devoted member of Grace Methodist church.

Note: Burial in the Glendale Cemetery at Des Moines.
