Mrs. Wm. Barton is seriously ill with heart disease, and her condition is considered critical.

LATER — As we go to press Thursday evening, Mrs. Barton is still living, but her death is expected at any time.

Mrs. Drusilla Barton, wife of William Barton, died at her home in this city, last Tuesday night, after a lingering and painful illness, resulting from heart trouble.

The remains were taken to St. Charles, the former home of the family, for burial, Wednesday. The funeral sermon is to be preached at the Methodist church in this city next Sunday.

The sad event had been hourly expected for several weeks, but the stroke nevertheless fell heavily on the bereaved family, to whom the sympathy of friends and neighbors goes out in this, the time of their affliction.
