George W. Hampton of Kansas City, died on Feb. 18th, 1921 at his home, the body being brought to Des Moines for burial on Sunday beside his wife and daughter.
Mr. Hampton, who was about 80 years of age, was a prominent business man in Winterset, coming here in 1872. He entered into the commercial and social life of the community in a whole-hearted way, and was widely known during his residence here. He was manager of the elevator here and lived in the house situated on the H. Z. Cross property.
Mrs. Hampton was Miss Georgia English before her marriage, a member of the well known English family of Des Moines.
Garnet, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hampton, died in Winterset. A son, Henry, is the last one of his family.
