Mrs. Carrie Pickens, whose home was near St. Marys, died of pneumonia on Monday of last week. The funeral was from the United Presbyterian church in St. Charles, she being a devoted member of that organization. Discourse by Rev. Baldridge, of Des Moines, formerly pastor here. The remains were carefully laid to rest in the St. Charles cemetery in the presence of her stricken husband, five young children, now motherless, and a host of sorrowing friends. She was a lady who attained as nearly to perfection as is possible to do on earth.
