HARRY BURCH DIED THURSDAY

Life-Time Resident Of This County Was 75 Years Of Age

Harry E. Burch, a well-known Madison county farmer and a life-long resident of the county, died Thursday August 11, at his home in Winterset. He was 75 years of age.

Mr. Burch was born at Penn Center on September 27, 1890, a son of John A. and Mary Lee Burch. Most of his life-time was spent farming in Lincoln township. He had retired and moved to Winterset in 1962.

He was married June 20, 1919 to Stella M. Peterson at Earlham. She survives him.

Mr. Burch served in the U. S. Coast artillery, both in the United States and in France during World War I and was a member of Green-Rogers post of the American Legion. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Winterset, in which he had served as an elder and a trustee.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, John Burch of Winterset; two daughters, Maxine Burch of Omaha, and Mrs. Beverly Stanley of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bertholf of Hollywood, California, and Mrs. Marie Coffey of Detroit, Michigan.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the First Christian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William E. Bowles. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery
