John Wesley Stout son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Stout was born in Mahaska county, Iowa on April 2d, 1848 and departed this life May 31, 1919 at the home of his son, Charles at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 2 days.
He was united in marriage April 21, 1871 to Sarah Janes who entered the Great Beyond April 3, 1919.
In young manhood he united with the Baptist church and remained a member until his death. He leaves to mourn his loss four children, Mrs. R. J. Bell, C. A. and E. R. Stout of Patterson and J. M. Stout of Iowa Falls; eleven grandchildren; besides his brothers, sisters and other relatives.
