Peru Special, February 26th – Word has been received here of the death of Ada May Travis, on February 7th, in Great Falls, Montana, at the age of 56 years. A brother, James F. Seifred lives in Peru.
Mrs. Travis was born in Council Bluffs, but her parents died when she was 12 years of age, and she came to this county to make her home with an aunt. When twenty years of age, she was married to Ira Homer Travis, and they were the parents of three children: Thelma, Helen and Ira. Mr. Travis died in Des Moines, December 7, 1923. After her husband’s death she went with her daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Gast to Montana, where she has since made her home.
Funeral services and burial took place at Great Falls.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ada M. Travis, 56, 209 Twenty-third street north, who died in this city Thursday evening following a lingering illness, will be held at the W. H. George chapel Monday afternoon at 2. The Rev. J. A. Martin will officiate. Entombment will be in the Great Falls Mausoleum.
Mrs. Travis was born in Council Bluffs, Ia. Feb. 4, 1879. Her parents settled on a ranch in the Belt creek vicinity nearly fifty years ago. Mrs. Travis attended Belt and Great Falls schools. She was married to I. H. Travis, who died in 1923, at Des Moines, Ia. In recent years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. William Gast, residing in this city.
There survive two daughters, Mrs. William Gast and Mrs. Earl Rodger of Alberton, Mont.; a son, Ira D. Travis of Dallas, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Cora Seifred of Peru, Ia.; an uncle, Henry Wetzel of Corvallis, and three grandchildren.
