Mr. William Eldridge, of South township, died at six o’clock Thursday morning, at the home of his son, Albert, in Winterset. The exact cause of his death, we did not learn, though he had been suffering for some time from stomach and kidney troubles. He had been at Des Moines serving as a juror in the United States court, and being taken ill last Friday, his son went down and brought him to his home here, where he remained until his death.

Mr. Eldridge was 69 years of age, and, besides his wife, leaves seven children, all of whom are grown up and married. He was a native of Ohio, and came to Madison county about 36 years ago, making his home in South township, where he was a substantial farmer.

The remains were taken early this morning to Union chapel for burial. His afflicted relatives have the sympathy of the whole community.
