John Crawford, an old citizen of Scott township, living a short distance south of town, was stricken with paralysis last Thursday and died Monday night. He was an old settler of Madison county, and was a well known character, commonly designated as “Old Johnny Crawford.” His age was between eighty and ninety.

Note: Burial was made in the Primitive Baptist cemetery.
