Mr. Byron Tucker died last Tuesday September 6th, at his home in Winterset of kidney disease. At eight o’clock in the morning he was very low, and the report was circulated that he was dying and he revived slightly and did not pass away until about noon.
Mr. Tucker was a native of New York state, and came to Winterset about fifteen years ago. He was engaged extensively in the creamery and butter and egg business, and was well known throughout the county.
His health had been poor for several years and for a few months preceding his last illness it was only by great resolution that he was able to be about and attend to his affairs.
He belonged to the Presbyterian church, of which he was an active member, and a liberal contributor.
His family at the time of his death consisted of his wife and niece, Miss Helen Snider, who had long made her home with them, and her sister, Miss Harriett Snider, who had also been present for some time. He received the most devoted care of the family, assisted by friends and neighbors.
Funeral service which was conducted by Rev. H. C. Herring, was held Wednesday afternoon and was largely attended.
