GEORGE COOLEY DIES AT TRURO

Well-Known Farmer and Stock Man Was 83 Years of Age

George C. Cooley, a life-long resident of the Truro community, died Wednesday, May 8 at his farm home, in Ohio township, as a result of a heart attack. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Cooley was one of Madison county's most successful and substantial farmers and was widely known as a stockman.

He was born Nov. 10, 1872 on the farm where he spent his life and where his death occurred. He was a son of Franklin J. and Rosalia Brujek Cooley.

During his long life, he was active in the Truro Congregational Christian church, where he participated in the choir for many years. He was also active in community affairs.

Mr. Cooley never married. His nearest relative is a sister, Mrs. T. T. Umbarger of Springfield, Mo.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Truro Congregational Christian church, conducted by a former pastor there, the Rev. Walter E. Schilling of Mitchellville, assisted by the Rev. Dale Lockart, the present pastor. Burial was made in the Young cemetery near Truro
