FALL FROM CAR CAUSES DEATH

Walnut Township Farmer Dies in Minnesota From Injuries Received in Des Moines

Andrew Bishop of Walnut township died at Hubbard Minnesota on Wednesday of last week from injuries received on Monday previous. Mr. Bishop had rented his farm near Barney and on Monday of last week started for Minnesota with the idea that he might rent or later buy a larger farm in that state. While in Des Moines on Monday he fell from a street car and sustained severe injuries about the head. He was taken to Mercy hospital where his injuries were dressed.

On Tuesday morning he left the hospital and proceeded on his journey with out advising the hospital authorities of his intentions. His injuries proved to be more serious than he was aware of.

Upon arriving at Fairmount Minnesota he undertook to walk to Hubbard, a distance of nine miles. He lost his way and was found in a helpless condition and taken to Hubbard where he died on Wednesday.

Mrs. Bishop left on Thursday to bring home the body. He was brought to Lorimor and funeral services held there on Tuesday of this week. Besides the wife three children are left. The circumstances leading to the death render the bereavement an unusually sad one.

Obituary of Andrew Bishop

Andrew Bishop was born in Warren county, Iowa, September 22, 1859 and died at the home of John Hubbard in Truman, Minn., February 11, 1915, aged 55 years, 4 months and 19 days. Mr. Bishop was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Bishop, both of whom have departed this life.

He moved with his parents from Warren county to Madison county when a boy of eleven years and here he spent the remainder of his life.

He was married to Mrs. Cora Brown March 31, 1902 and to this union were born three children, Raymond aged 10, Beatrice age 8, and Leota aged 6.

A few days ago Mr. Bishop started for Minnesota and stopped off in Des Moines. While there he fell from a street car and injured his skull. He was taken to Mercy hospital but the fall seemed to have affected his brain and he escaped and went on to his destination. He reached Truman, Minn., and attempted to find his way to Mr. Hubbard’s but some way missed his way and it is thought that he wandered about twenty miles I the cold and the storm before he was found.

Mr. Bishop was an ideal citizen, dealing fairly with all a faithful husband and a loving father. He leaves to mourn his loss the wife, three children, two brothers, three sisters, besides many friends.

The body was brought to Lorimor Monday of this week and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Roy Spooner from the Methodist church Tuesday. Interment was made in the Barney cemetery.
