Death of Mrs. James H. Berry

Mrs. James H. Berry, who formerly resided in this county, but had recently been making her home in Cairo, Missouri, died Thursday, September 27th at the age of 65 years. The deceased, Emily F. Smith was born in Marion county, February 8, 1863 and was married to Mr. Berry of this county, January 1st, 1879. Six children were born to them as follows: Floyd and Ruth, at home; Walter, Manville and Mrs. Ether Marrow of Caro, Missouri and Mrs. Molly Leak of Norwalk. She also leaves besides her husband and children, nine grandchildren, two brothers and one sister, John W. and Andrew Smith and Mrs. Martha Chenoweth, all of Lorimor.

Mrs. Berry is said to have become a member of the Christian church at the age of 30 years. The Rev. F. Clare McCallon, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ, conducted the funeral services Saturday afternoon, September 29th at two-thirty o'clock at the Fellowship Congregational church in Monroe township and burial was made in the church cemetery.
