Ray C. Silverthorn, who was born in Adair County December 29, 1885, died Wednesday May 3, 1972 at Madison Manor in Winterset at the age of 88 years, 4 months and four days.
He was the son of the late Philip and Dora Silverthorn and had lived all his life in Iowa. He had been a residenf Winterset since 1953 where he was employed by Locke Bros. Roofing Company prior to retirement.
Surviving him are a son, Gerold Raymond Silverthorn and a daughter Frances (Mrs. Woodrow Silinger) of Commerce City, Colorado and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
