Winterset Woman Died on Monday After Long Illness

Mrs. Ethel Williams, a long-time resident of Madison and Dallas counties, died at the Winterset hospital Monday after a long illness. She was 74 years of age.

Mrs. Williams was the former Ethel Anderson, daughter of John and Minerva Anderson, and was born in Eagleville, Mo., on May 20, 1869. As a small child she came to Winterset with her parents. After living here a few years, they moved to De Soto, where she grew to womanhood.

With her husband, she lived on various farms in Dallas and Madison counties until his death in 1927. Since that time she had made her home in Winterset.

Mrs. Williams joined the Methodist church at an early age. After her marriage she became a member of the De Soto Church of Christ later uniting with Early Chapel. Since coming to Winterset, she had been a member of the Winterset Church of Christ.

Mrs. Williams is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. F. Burger of Alta; two sons, George Williams of Davenport and Earl Williams of Winterset; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Maud Smith; and a brother, M. W. Anderson of De Soto.

Funeral services will be held from the Winterset Church of Christ this Thursday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor. Burial will be made in the De Soto cemetery.
