OBITUARY
Alma Alta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hawkins, was born in Delmar, Clinton county, Iowa, Oct. 28, 1897, and died of diphtheria May 7, 1905, at Earlham, Iowa, at the age of 7 years, 6 months, 9 days. During her short illness she was very patient. On Sunday about noon realizing that death was nigh, told her mamma she did not believe she would live until dark, which proved only too true. About an hour before death she kissed her parents good-bye saying “I will remember you papa, I will remember you manna,” and calling for brothers and sisters, of whose companionship she had been deprived during her illness, expressed a desire to kiss them goodbye. She was laid to rest Monday, May 8 in Earlham cemetery.
