Death of Mrs. Ira Murphy

Mrs. Lillie May Murphy, wife of Ira Murphy, Grand River township farmer, died at her home there on March 22. She was 48 years of age.

Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of James and Belle Cunningham and was born in Madison county on June 24, 1886. She was married to Ira Murphy on September 9, 1908. They were the parents of a son.

The family lived in Adair county for 30 years, returning to the county in 1933.

Mrs. Murphy leaves her husband, a son, Ora Murphy of Winterset, the mother, Mrs. Belle Kinkaid, two brothers, Clint and Emery of Winterset and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Timmons and Pearl Leonard, and a step-daughter and step-son, Pearl Dorsey and Clarence Murphy, two uncles, Marion and Matt Johnson and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from Ramsey-Richards funeral home on March 24 by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead. Burial was made in the Wight cemetery.
