Joe McKenzie, after a lingering illness of about a year, succumbed to the inevitable on Wednesday, November 27. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his death. He was 42 years old. It is needless to comment on the life that has been so nobly lived. If honesty and industry count for nobility, then Joe surely wears the golden crown. When but a young man he lost his entire left arm in a cane press. This loss did not daunt him in the least, so by hard and persistent toil under the most trying circumstances, he left his family with a neat farm of thirty acres.
