Death of Maud Shuey.

Died, Sunday morning, May 18, 1890, at the parental home in this city, Maud Shuey.

Little Maud was born in Winterset, Oct. 12, 1880. She was a child of delicate frame and sensitive nervous constitution. Last winter she suffered an attack of la grippe from the effects of which she never recovered.

Her intelligent and affectionate nature won her many friends in day school and Sunday school. She knew that she was summoned to die and tried to compose her mamma by saying it was better for her to go. She said she loved everybody and wanted them to come in and see her.

Her last public performance was in the fan drill at the Methodist church in connection with the Junior League, in which she did so nicely that every one spoke of it. The next day she was sick. Now she is where they need no fan, for neither doth the sun light on them nor may heat and where there is no sickness nor death.

The funeral service was largely attended and a profusion of floral offerings were strewn over the coffin by her little friends.
