Obituary Notice.

Mrs. Dorothy Osborn, of Grand River township, Madison county, Iowa, departed this life on the 17th day of March, 1879, at the residence of her son, Rev. H. H. Badley, aged almost 85 years.

She was born in the State of Maryland, moved when 8 years old to Virginia, subsequently to Ohio; where she was married to Arthur Badley in 1815. In 1819 her husband died in Union county, Ohio. Five years later, she married Daniel Osborn, whom she survived about 18 years.

They removed from Ohio to Iowa in 1847, and settled in Keokuk county, where she lived until 1874, when she became blind, and gave up her old home for one in Madison county with some of her children. She had been a member of the M. E. church for more than 68 years, had raised 8 children of her own, and 3 step-children.

She lived to see them all make a profession of religion and unite with the church of her choice, also two sons, Revs. H. H. and A. Badley, itinerant preachers, a step-son a local preacher, and a grandson, Rev. B. H. Badley a missionary in India.

She fell quite suddenly, but fell as a shock of corn, fully ripe. She exulted in death and praised her Saviour almost with her dying breath.
