DIED, April 9, 1890, Lucy E., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Larkins, in the 24th year of her age.
She had been staying at the hotel for two months, and had been in good health until Tuesday morning, when she took sick very suddenly. She was under the care of Dr. Grandfield until Wednesday afternoon, when Dr. Barnes was called, but when he arrived he pronounced her beyond all help. She suffered until about 11 o’clock, p.m., when she passed quietly out of this world of sorrow into that happy land on the other shore.
While we cannot understand why this sorrow must fall upon this family, we know that it is God’s will. He has given and he has taken away; and, although their hearts are aching, they must submit to the inevitable, and prepare to meet this loved one where sorrow is not known.
She was buried in the cemetery at Macksburg. The family has the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
Note: Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
