Evangelos Thomas Nikas, 52, of Winterset died of lung cancer June 23, 2002 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services will be held in Greece. Burial will be at the Krania Prevezis Cemetery in Krania, Prevezis, Greece.
Evangelos Nikas was born Sept. 18, 1949 in Krania, Prevezis, Greece to Thomas E. and Tiffany (Dimou) Nikas. On May 1, 1967, he married Voula Mihalopoulas in Athens, Greece. Evangelos, a resident of Winterset for the past 20 years, had been a cook for the former Paul's Pizza in Winterset and the present Paul's Pizza in Indianola.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Voula of Winterset; his mother, Tiffany Nikas of Greece; a son, Tom Nikas of Knoxville; a daughter Tiffany Nikas of Greece; two brothers, Lambros Nikas of England and Pete Nikas of Greece; a sister, Roula Nikas of Greece; and three grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
