Elzara “Billye” Kent, 101, died Nov. 5, 2007, at Winterset Care Center North.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial of the cremated remains will be at Winterset Cemetery.
Billye Kent was born July 21, 1906, to Basil and Minnie (Hollingsworth) Kauble of Elliston and was a 1924 graduate of Elliston High School. Her marriage to William R. Kent took place Aug. 12, 1928. Billye and her husband operated the Kent Guernsey Dairy. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Kay Camille Wahlert and Vi Eve Harriet Kirby; five sisters; and one great-granddaughter.
She is survived by one son, Roderick Kent of Des Moines; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Care Center North Activity Fund.
