Penn Pencilings

David W. Hathaway died at the residence of his son, Benton, in Woodbury, January 4th. Mr. Hathaway was one of the earliest settlers of this township, and resided here until about five years ago, when he went to Woodbury county where most of his children resided. He was known by us all to be an upright, conscientious and religious gentleman. His remains were brought here for burial and were interred in the cemetery adjoining his old homestead, in the presence of a large number of sorrowful friends and relatives.

Note: Burial was made in the Old Penn Center cemetery.
