Donald Rehard, the son of Orland and Linda Walters Rehard, was born on February 5, 1915, in Madison County, Iowa. He passed away June 13, 1977, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
A life time resident of Madison County, Don farmed prior to becoming a police officer in Earlham in 1969. After moving to Earlham in 1971, Don began to work actively with a group of 20 or 30 young Earlham boys, training them in boxing. Several of these boys went on to Golden Gloves competition during the years following. Before his resignation as police officer about a year and half ago, Don worked quietly with many Earlham youngsters experiencing “growing-up” problems and has been a profound influence in their lives.
Don was a member of the Lutheran church in Winterset. In addition to church organizations, he was a member of the Madison County Peace Officers Association.
On June 5, 1941, Don married Augusta Bloomquist who survives him. They became the parents of one son, John, of Earlham. Other relatives surviving include a sister, Dorothy Fox of Pueblo, Colorado; two nieces, Dorinda Fox and Beverly Pisciotta, both of Pueblo; and a grandnephew, Bobby.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Toso at the Collins funeral home in Winterset on Wednesday, June 15, with interment at Pleasant View cemetery.

Services Wednesday for Don Rehard
Services for Don Rehard, 62, of Earlham were Wednesday, June 15, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Burial was at Pleasantview Cemetery, rural Madison county.
He is survived by his wife Augusta; one son John, one sister, two nieces, and one grandnephew.
