ELIZABETH CARSON Obituary

Elizabeth Kidd was born in county Wexford, Ireland, Nov 4, 1842, died at her residence in Patterson, Iowa. Age 66 years, 8 months and 28 days.

She came to this country in 1851 and settled in Sandusky, Ohio, where she was united in marriage to Andrew L. Carson, Sept 2, 1863, both at that time being members of the United Presbyterian church. They emigrated to Madison county, Iowa, in 1868 and about the year of 1874, they united with the M. E. church in Patterson, where the deceased remained a faithful member to the last and during her sickness bore testimony of her willing submission to the will of Christ.

Five children remain to mourn the loss of the departed, Wm. Warren, of Rolla, Mo.; Carrie Mabel, wife of Geo. M. Dean of Rolla, Mo.; Edward L. of Patterson, Iowa; Florence E., wife of Walter M. Gowdery of Davenport; Fred V., of Patterson. The husband and two children having previously departed this life.

The funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Patterson, Sunday, August 15th at 11 a.m. conducted by G. E. Nichols pastor of the Christian church.
