P. M. Holtom, who lived in the southwest part of town, died Monday from the effects of lockjaw. He ran a nail into his foot about two weeks ago and for several days gave it but little attention.

In Memoriam.

At a meeting of the K. of L., Assembly No. 6236, the following resolutions were reported by the committee and adopted:

WHEREAS, It is appointed that all that are born must die, and in accordance to that decree death has entered our ranks and removed from our midst our worthy brother, P. M. Haltom, who died November 8, 1887, in the forty-ninth year of his age. Therefore be it

Resolved: That in the death of Brother Haltom our order has lost a worthy member, society an industrious man, and his family a kind husband and indulgent father.

Resolved: That we hereby tender the sincere sympathy of all true Knights to the family of our deceased brother, in this their hour of sad bereavement.
