MRS. CARRIE EARP DIES IN DES MOINES

Native of Douglas Township Had Lived at Waukee Many Years

Mrs. Carrie Earp, a native of Douglas township, died Friday Nov. 7 at Des Moines. She was 77 years of age.

Mrs. Earp was the former Carrie Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Richmond, who lived about two miles north of the West Star church. She was born June 30, 1870. She was married to Charles F. Earp at Winterset in 1892. He died in 1941. They lived at Waukee for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Nile Earp of Waukee and Lester Earp of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Hammond of Rosemead, Calif.; a brother, Lester Richmond of Peoria, Ill.; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Waukee from the Methodist church there, and burial was made in the Waukee cemetery.

Carrie Alice Richmond was born at Winterset, Iowa, June 30, 1870 and passed away in Des Moines November 7, 1947.

She was united in marriage to Charles Francis Earp at Winterset in June 1892. Three children were born to them.

Mr. Earp died February 5, 1941.

She is survived by sons, Nile Earp of Waukee, Lester Earp of Anaheim, Cal., one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Hammond of Rosemead, California and one brother, Leslie Richmond of Peoria. Illinois.

MRS. CHARLES EARP DIES

Mrs. Charles Earp, former Madison county resident, who had lived in Waukee for a number of years, died in Des Moines Friday, Nov. 7 at the age of 77 years.

Mrs. Earp was the former Carrie Alice Richmond, and was born in Winterset, June 30, 1870. She spent her early life here, and was married to Charles Francis Earp in June, 1892. They lived in the West Star neighborhood for a number of years, and she united with that church when a girl.

Mr. and Mrs. Earp were the parents of three children. The husband preceded her in death, dying Feb. 5, 1941.

She is survived by the children: two sons, Nile Earp of Waukee and Lester Earp of Anaheim, Calif., and one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Hammond of Rosemead, Calif. She also leaves one brother, Lester Richmond of Peoria, Ill., five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Earp were held at the Methodist church in Waukee Monday afternoon and burial was made in the Waukee cemetery.
