Harold Robinett, 96, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday Oct. 23, 2007, at Hallmark Care Center from complications of age. Services: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset, by Pastor Ben Turner. Burial: Lorimor Cemetery, Lorimor. Visitation: Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Harold is survived by his son-in-law, James Albright of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Debbie (Bruce) Waterbury of Bremerton, Wash., and Robbin (Floyd) Rekemeyer of Cedar Rapids; and great-grandchildren, Kristi (Brit) Balant, Paul Rekemeyer, Matthew Rekemeyer and Daniel Rekemeyer.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Agnes (Payne) Robinett; wife, Verna Robinett; daughter, Jeanett Albright; brother, Archie Robinett; sisters, Vera Lord, Manera Heath and Iowone Hartman; and close friend, Marvin Camp.

Harold was born March 19, 1911 in Licking, Mo., to Jasper and Agnes (Payne) Robinett. He was married on May 12, 1935 in Winterset, Iowa to Verna Marie Verwers. He had spent most of his life in Madison County, having moved to Eastern Iowa in 2000. He had been a member of First Church of God in Lorimor.

HAROLD ROBINETT, MT. VERNON

Harold Robinett, 96, died Oct. 23, 2007, at Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Ben Turner officiating. Burial was at Lorimor Cemetery.

Harold Robinett was born March 19, 1911, to Jasper and Agnes (Payne) Robinett of Licking, Mo. His marriage to Verna Marie Verwers took place May 12, 1935, in Winterset. Harold, a farmer for most of his life, had been a member of the First Church of God in Lorimor.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one daughter, Jeanett Albright; a brother, Archie Robinett; and three sisters, Vera Lord, Manera Heath and Iowone Hartman.

He is survived by his son-in-law, James Albright of Cedar Rapids, and 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Memorials given to the family will be directed to Camp Courageous.
