Died in St. Charles, Friday, March 25th, Mrs. E. N. Van Hosen, wife of E. N. Van Hosen, proprietor of the City Hotel. Mrs. Van Hosen had been in poor health for more than a year, and for the last three months had suffered greatly. The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church, conducted by the Rev. G. C. Peck, of Winterset. The large gathering and the general sympathy was evidence enough of the high esteem in which she was held by all. She died with a childlike faith in her Savior; and of such is the kingdom of heaven. She leaves a husband and five sons, and many friends to mourn her loss.

Note: Sarah (Carter) Van Hosen is buried in the St. Charles cemetery.
