Special Mention

Our old friend and citizen, W. H. Carroll, who had been lying very sick for a number of weeks past, died last Wednesday night, and was buried Friday. The deceased was very much thought of by our citizens for his many good qualities. He was a man of the strictest integrity, and honesty of purpose. His good natured face and familiar figure will be greatly missed on our streets.

Obituary

Died, Feb. 9th, 1887, at his son’s residence in the south part of town, Mr. William Carroll, age 63 years and two days.

Mr. Carroll was born in Penn., in 1824, married Elisabeth McClealand in 1847. He moved with his family to Winterset in 1874.
