Mrs. Benge, mother of A. M. and John Benge, died at her home Monday. She was an old settler.

Margret [sic] Benge, the widow of Alferd [sic] Benge, died at her residence in Winterset, November 22d, 1886, in the 64th year of her age.

She married Mr. Benge on the 4th of July 1839, in Madison Co., Indiana. They moved to Madison Co., Iowa in 1854. There was born to them 11 children 4 boys and 7 girls, 6 of whom remain, 2 sons and 4 daughters.

She professed faith in Christ in 1869, and united in church fellowship at Buffalo tp. Funeral services took place at her residence, Rev. A.H. Case officiating.
