A. B. Stafford, an old citizen of Winterset, died this week under sad circumstances. It will be remembered that he became insane last summer and was taken to the hospital at Clarinda. There he failed to improve as was hoped, and became gradually weaker until his death occurred last Monday.

His body was brought home for burial and the funeral was held last Wednesday.

He was a union veteran and had been granted a pension shortly before he became insane.
