Mrs. Bruce, wife of F. M. Bruce, of Douglas township, died last Friday, after a short sickness from paralysis. The burial took place the next day at the McDonald cemetery, near there. Mrs. Bruce was something past middle life, an estimable woman, the mother of a family of children, part of whom are grown. Her maiden name was Templeman, being a sister of William Templeman, and Mrs. Rufus Clark of this city.

Page 5Chips and Whetstones - Mrs. F. M. Bruce died at her home in Douglas township of paralysis last Friday, and the remains were buried Saturday in the McDonald cemetery. We have no further data at hand concerning her life or death.

Page 2Harriet Maria Templeman was born in Perry county, Ohio, August 23, 1846, died July 19, 1895, aged 48 years, 10 months, 27 days. She was married to F. M. Bruce December 11, 1870. She came to Madison county in 1869, where she resided until her death. She was converted at the age of fifteen and united with the United Brethren church. Last winter she united with the M. E. church at West Star, of which church she was a faithful member till God called her to her heavenly home.
She leaves a husband and seven children, five brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss.
The funeral services were held at the home in Douglas township, July 20, by W. C. Smith, before a large congregation of sympathizing friends and relatives.
