MINA KATHRENE SCAR

Mina Kathrena, the daughter of Henry Wedemeyer and Caroline, nee Niess, was born at Adair Iowa on January 13, 1888. She was baptized in St. John Lutheran church, Adair on April 1, 1888, by pastor Fredrich Ehlers. She attended Christian day school at Immanuel Lutheran church, Adair while the school was in existence. She was confirmed by the Rev. C. F. Eisele in Immanuel on March 23, 1902.

On January 10, 1909 she was united in marriage with William Scar of Dexter in the parental home at Adair, by pastor Gottlieb Haar. This union was blessed with three children. She became a member of Zion Lutheran church, Dexter after her marriage and was active in the Ladies' Aid and the Senior Fellowship. Her husband passed away on May 25, 1968.

She fell asleep in Jesus on Saturday, January 11 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 29 days. She is survived by two daughters, Gladys of the home, Norine, Mrs. Ewald Nath of Wichita, Kansas, one son, the Rev. William Scar of West Newton, Massachusetts, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Christian burial was given her on Tuesday, January 13 from Zion Lutheran church, the Rev. Norman Luecht officiating, with burial at the Dexter Cemetery.

(Mina's husband, Wm. was born at Earlham. They lived in Madison County until 1945)
