Earlham GAZETTE: Died near Earlham on last Tuesday, June 30th, 1885, Grandmother Mendenhall. She was born in Virginia in the year 1788, where she resided till 1850 when she removed to Iowa. At the time of her death she was 97 years, 2 months and 15 days old. She was buried at Bear Creek Cemetery Wednesday.
