Services for Sadie McKinney, 73, who died April 7 at the Embassy Manor Care Center in Newton, were held at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home April 9 with the Rev. Raleigh Gordon of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
She was the daughter of Thomas and Marive Smith Kephart. She was born July 23, 1911 at Peru. She was married to Roy McKinney on April 22, 1933.
Survivors are her daughter, Mrs. Virginia Dunsbergen of Des Moines; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom of Spencer, Anderson and James, both of Winterset; sisters, Mable Diggs of Newton, Mary Chapman of Earlham, Mildred Hopkins of Des Moines, Hazel Snell of Greenfield and Edna Kephart of Winterset.
Mrs. McKinney was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Pocahontas Lodge and the Izaak Walton League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1957, her parents, a sister and three brothers.
