During the celebration of the Fourth at St. Charles, Louren Belcher and James Sweazy engaged in a quarrel in which Sweazy was felled by a blow, which resulted in his death. Great excitement prevailed in the vicinity of St. Charles. Belcher was bound over to await the meeting of the grand jury.
