KENNY ALLISON, WINTERSET

Kenny Allison, 74, of Winterset died Sept. 19, 2007, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 22, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Rich Koster officiating. Burial followed at Winterset Cemetery.

Kenny Allison was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Stuart to Robert and Lelah (Douglas) Allison and grew up in Winterset. He spent 20 years in the United States Navy, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. After returning to Winterset in 1972, Kenny was a tavern owner and truck driver. He also was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; an infant son, Kenneth Ray Allison; an infant daughter, June Marie Allison; and a brother, Keith Allison.

He is survived by his mother, Lelah, of Winterset; two sons Jerry Lee Allison of Talkeetna, Alaska, and Stephen Allison of Des Moines; two brothers, Duane Allison of Iowa City and Bernard Allison of Kellogg; and one grandson.
