OBITUARY

Mrs. Geo. W. Hetzler, the subject of this notice, was born in Carroll county, Illinois, April 9th, 1837. She has been a resident of Winterset since September, 1874, where she died at 8:30 a.m., December 25, 1884. Her funeral was attended at her home on Saturday, the 27th, at 2 p.m.

No words can fitly tell the sense of loss that has come in this death to her husband, children and friends. In her, both nature and grace had united to make a character that is rarely excelled. It was not necessary that the blessing that was in this fondly loved wife and mother, should take its flight to make the now stricken husband and children realize and appreciate her life. She became more thoroughly intrenched in their affections with each passing year. "Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

To say that her death was peaceful would not reveal the facts. Her implicit faith in Christ as her personal Saviour, made God's truth as real to her as her existence. She repeatedly said, "All I need, I find in Christ." She so apprehended and appropiated the Saviour that she joyfully welcomed death, both as "the end of fear," and "the gate to endless joy." An so God's chariot came on the day made memorable by our Lord's nativity, and she went home to be forever with her Father's family, in the "many mansions." "Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

In her triumphant death the sorely bereaved family find comfort for their stricken hearts, and a coronation for their loved one.
