MICHAEL HANRAHAN OF LEE DIED FRIDAY

Michael W. Hanrahan, 60, a former resident of Lee township, died Friday morning, March 4, at his home in Des Moines, following a serious illness of four weeks duration.

Mr. Hanrahan was born and grew to manhood in Lee township, Madison county. He was united in marriage to Nellie McCune on April 11, 1899. To this union were born six children, one son, Walter preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Frank of Cummings, Lewis and Michael of Des Moines; two daughters, Nellie Brommel of St. Mary’s and Florence McGlothlin of Belmont; three sisters, Kathryn Loftus of Bevington, Julia Wiedman of Prole and Mary Hanrahan McCune of Oakland, California; one brother, Frank of Des Moines, and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o’clock in St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines. Burial was made in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Irish Settlement.

MICHAEL HANRAHAN FORMER LEE RESIDENT, BURIED AT ST. PATRICK'S

The body of Michael Hanrahan was brought from Des Moines last Monday for interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

Mr. Hanrahan was born and reared in Lee Township but for the past few years has lived in Des Moines where he died last Saturday. He was 61 years of age.

RITES MONDAY FOR HANRAHAN

Burial in Monroe County for Des Moines Man, 60

Services for Michael W. Hanrahan, 60, who died Friday at his home, 1065 Eighth St., will be at St. Ambrose cathedral at 9 a. m. Monday. He had been ill four weeks of a liver ailment.

Burial will be at St. Patrick's cemetery, Irish Settlement, Monroe county. He was a resident of the Irish Settlement community for many years before moving to Des Moines eight years ago. He was a member of the Holy Name society.

Mr. Hanrahan is survived by his wife, Nellie; three sons, Frank of Norwalk, la., and Louis and Michael of Des Moines; two daughter, Mrs. W. B. Brommel of St Mary la., and Mrs. M. P. McLaughlin of Belmond, la., and 12 grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Frank of Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. J. W. McCune of Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Michael Loftus and Mrs. John Weidmann of Prole, Ia.
