William N. Petersen, former Scott township resident, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1968, at a hospital in Boone. He was 85 years of age.
Mr. Petersen was born in Ida county Sept. 7, 1883, a son of Andrew and Anna Prehn Petersen. The family moved to Des Moines in 1885, living there for 14 years. In 1899 they moved to a farm in Scott township of Madison county, where they lived for 34 years. In 1933, he moved to a farm east of Paton, in Greene county, which continued to be his home until his death.
On Feb. 17, 1946, he was married to Ella Kahler of Scheswig, who survives him.
He was a member of the Zion Luteran church in Ogden.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a brother, Rudolph Petersen of Jefferson.
Funeral services were held Nov. 18 from the Treloar-Carson Funeral home in Ogden with the Rev. Martin Haerther officiaging. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
