John Francis, one of the old and highly respected citizens of Douglas township, died at his home Monday of pneumonia.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

JOHN FRANCIS

Died, on Monday, March 24, 1884, of pneumonia, John Francis, of Douglas township. His birth place was Darke county, Ohio, April 16, 1828. At his death he was fifty-five years, ten months and thirty days old.

He has led and lived a consistent and christian life, being a member of the Christian Church for the last thirty years. His funeral sermon was preached by Elder Bradfield.

He leaves a widow, two sons and an adopted daughter to mourn his loss.
