John H. Atcheson, of Douglas township, died at his home nine miles northwest of Winterset on Friday evening Sept. 25th, 1903, from hemorrhage of the lungs.
Mr. Atcheson was well known throughout the county and generally respected as a good citizen and an upright man.
His funeral services were held from the home on Monday under the direction of his pastor, Rev. P. H. McDowell of the Baptist church and the interment made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mr. Atcheson lived many years five or six miles southwest of Wintersest in Lincoln township.

J. H. Achison, of Douglas township, died at his home last Friday night of hemorrhage of the lungs. He had been a sufferer for sometime past and his death was not altogether unexpected. Mr. Acheson was one of Madison county’s best farmers and a most worthy man in every respect. He has long been a resident of the county and has always enjoyed the highest confidence and esteem of his neighbors and all those with whom he came in contact.
