Mrs. Joseph Ruth, of Douglas township, died at the home of her father, Richard Bruce, Thursday morning. She has suffered a long time with that dreaded disease, consumption. She leaves her husband, and a child five months old.

ITEMS FROM LINCOLN

Mrs. Mattie Ruth died April 18th, at her father's residence, Mr. R. P. Bruce, of Douglas township. She leaves an afflicted husband, three little children and many friends to mourn her loss. She was an affectionate wife, a kind mother and a sympathetic friend, and will be missed by all who knew her.

The funeral services, which were largely attended, were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Newell, of the M. E. Church of Winterset.
