The first burial was that of Mrs. Elvira Haven in 1855.

Coordinator's note: In the 1856 and 1860 Madison County Censuses, there was an "Alvira Havens", born in 1807, living in Webster Township. In 1867, her husband, Richardson Havens, had moved to Missouri and re-married there. It is possible that the date of Elvira's death is off by a decade. Her grave was one of several that were west of the road adjacent to the cemetery and lost to posterity.
