Last Saturday as John Odell and wife were on their way to Winterset with their five months old babe, and just as they come to the lane that leads to J. A. Breeding's the child began to fret and on removing the wraps it was found to be dying, and before they could get to Mr. Breeding's it was dead.

Note: Burial in the Union Chapel South Cemetery.
