DIED--At Winterset March 21st, 1883. Mrs. Margaret Garner. She was born at Swart Springs in Botetourt county, Virginia, Feb. 28th, 1818; was married to Alfred Garner, Feb. 1, 1838. Removed with her husband to Dubuque county, Iowa, in 1854. The family came to Madison county in 1869. The family consisted of nine children, five of whom are living and four have been residents of Madison county. Mrs. Garner became a member of the M.E. church when fifteen years of age, and remained a consistent member until death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Newell, at the M.E. Church. All the family were present except two.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
